Freddy Pierre

Freddy is a proud native of Miami's Little Haiti neighborhood. He grew up with his two brothers and hard working parents—an electrician father and a Publix employee mother—who instilled in him a drive to work hard for the best in life. However, economic struggles and the prevalence of crime in his neighborhood led him down a challenging path that resulted in his incarceration. He was introduced to Beyond the Bars through his former bunkie in 2021 when he was attending court. This encounter transformed his trajectory. He became a member of the organization, where he learned the nuts and bolts of community organizing and public speaking as a community organizing fellow, and then was hired as a community organizer in 2023. In his role, he engages in deep community canvassing, relationship-building, and identifying and nurturing the leadership of his fellow community members in Miami.
