Public events
We regularly join panel discussions nationwide to share our model, wins, vision, and the context we operate in. This page is updated monthly with upcoming events and the cities where you can find us.

National criminal justice convening - From the margins to the frontlines: Worker resistance in precarious times (Chicago, il)
Too often, public resources are steered toward systems that punish instead of allowing us to thrive. Our session highlights how worker centers are expanding job opportunities for workers with records and transforming some of the most exploitative corners of the labor market by organizing for fair pay, safe conditions, and accountability — and why this work is necessary to end mass incarceration.

Southern Worker Action Summit - Dark Work: Precarious Labor and the Southern Economy (sPartanburg, South carolina)
Join Beyond the Bars, the Mississippi Workers' Center for Human Rights, and the National Domestic Workers Alliance for a workshop on how Southern labor and racial regimes intersect to produce and exploit “dark work,” and how workers are organizing at that intersection to demand dignity, safety, and power.

Captive Labor: Building Worker Power in Precarious Times
While often excluded from traditional labor conversations, incarcerated and formerly incarcerated workers have long been at the forefront of organizing for justice on the job. This 90-minute bilingual teach-in will explore how incarcerated and formerly incarcerated workers are organizing for health, safety, and dignity in some of the most exploitative corners of the labor market. Join us to learn about the intersecting issues of incarceration, workplace health and safety, and economic exploitation, and how this fight is reshaping the labor movement.

Unite & Win: An EWOC Organizing Conference - Solidarity Across Movements: Labor and the Fight for a Better World (Detroit, MI)
Labor is central to every fight for liberation. Join us for a panel on organizing workers with records at the intersection of carceral reform and labor power. In conversation with organizers working across movements nationwide, we’ll explore questions like: How do we center solidarity among workers and within our unions? How can shared struggle help us confront the prejudice and hatred embedded in our social fabric?
